Rising Damp is the term
used for the presence of dampness rising from the ground within the wall structure. When properties
are constructed, a damp proof course is generally installed, and over the years various systems have
been used. Over time some of these systems break down allowing rising damp to occur.
THE PROBLEM
The presence of rising
damp needs to be carefully diagnosed in order to ensure that this is not misdiagnosed or confused
with other sources of dampness. Up & Under surveyors are specially trained and are highly experienced,
and are able to undertake these inspections and determine the presence of rising damp.

Example of Rising Damp
Up & Under have been remedying
damp proof course failure for approximately 30 years, with total success.
THE SOLUTION
Up & Under can offer a
variety of remedies for damp proof course failure and our surveyors will assess which damp proof
system is most appropriate for your particular property and specific situation.
